Each day begins with the same evolving clinical case, guided by Dr. Patricia Resick on Day 1, Dr. Kate Chard on Day 2, and Dr. Candice Monson on Day 3. Dr. Patricia Resick

Presenter
Dr. Resick is Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Duke University and Adjunct Professor at the Medical University of South Carolina. A pioneer in PTSD treatment, she developed Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) in 1988 and has led numerous clinical trials. Dr. Resick served as President of both the ISTSS and ABCT. She has won research and mentoring awards as well as Lifetime Achievement Awards from the Trauma Division (56) of the APA, ISTSS, and ABCT.

Dr. Kate Chard

Dr. Kathleen Chard is the Director of the Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) Training Institute and Director of the UC Health Stress Center at the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Chard is recognized as an international expert on the assessment and treatment of PTSD and she is co-author of the CPT Treatment Manual. Dr. Chard has conducted numerous studies on the etiology and evidence-based treatment of PTSD in civilians, veterans and first responders.

Dr. Candice Monson

Dr. Monson is the Founder and CEO of Nellie Health and Professor of Psychology at Toronto Metropolitan University. She is recognized as an expert in traumatic stress and the use of individual and conjoint therapies for treating PTSD. Dr. Monson has published extensively on the development, evaluation, and dissemination of PTSD treatments. She has co-authored eight books, including comprehensive treatment manuals for Cognitive Processing Therapy and Cognitive-Behavioural Conjoint Therapy for PTSD.

Dr. Kelly Mairitsch

With over 21 years in the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Dr. Maieritsch is a leading expert in posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and trauma-related conditions, specializing in the implementation and sustainment of evidence‑based psychotherapies. An international trainer and consultant in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), she has trained and supported more than 1,000 clinicians across varied care settings and contributed to multiple CPT research trials as a therapist, investigator, and fidelity rater.

Dr. Tara Galovski

Presenter
Dr. Galovski is the Director of the Women’s Health Sciences Division of the National Center for PTSD and a Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Boston University School of Medicine. Over the last decade, Dr. Galovski has been a national trainer of Cognitive Processing Therapy, has trained over 1000 clinicians in both the VA and community mental health clinics, and has treated or supervised the treatment of 100s of PTSD cases. She has conducted federally funded clinical trials (NIH, VA, SAMHSA, DoD) within a variety of populations exposed to different types of trauma including combat, sexual trauma, domestic violence, community violence, and motor vehicle accidents. Recently, Dr. Galovski has developed, and is the Director of, a national network of peer-led support groups for women Veterans (Women Veterans Network: WoVeN).

Dr. Reg Nixon

Dr. Nixon is a Professor in Psychology at Flinders University in Adelaide, South Australia and member of the Flinders Institute for Mental Health and Wellbeing. He is an accredited trainer of Cognitive Processing Therapy and has led or contributed to multiple clinical trials and dissemination projects of CPT in Australia. He is currently overseeing projects delivering CPT to veterans, first responders, and young people, as well as a stepped-care intervention offering therapy via telehealth, including guided-self-help delivery of CPT. He has received major grants awarded by national granting agencies (e.g., Australian Research Council; National Health and Medical Research Council) and is a co-investigator of grant led by Prof. Tara Galovski using case formulation to personalize CPT with veterans.

Dr. Fiona Thomas

Dr. Thomas is an assistant professor of Psychology at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU). She earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology from TMU and MSc from the London School of Economics and Political Science in Health, Community and Development. Additionally, she completed a postdoctoral fellowship in implementation science and evidence-based trauma interventions on a joint project between labs at Stanford University and TMU. Dr. Thomas’ research examines culturally-informed and sustainable mental health interventions locally and globally, focused on addressing structural inequities and reducing mental health disparities among marginalized communities. Her research has been funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC; Partnership Engage Grants), Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR; Catalyst Grant), Mitacs, and the Association for Psychological Science.

Dr. Debra Kaysen

Dr. Kaysen is a Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and Chief of the Division of Public Mental Health and Population Sciences at Stanford Medicine. An internationally recognized clinical psychologist and researcher, her work focuses on developing, adapting, and disseminating evidence-based treatments for PTSD, substance use disorders, depression, and anxiety. She has made significant contributions to understanding and treating co-occurring PTSD and substance use disorders and has led research across diverse populations, including military personnel, sexual assault survivors, Native American communities, torture survivors, and sexual and gender minority populations in both the United States and internationally. Her work continues to shape trauma treatment, implementation science, and public mental health worldwide. 

Dr. Phil Shnaider

Presenter
Dr. Shnaider is a clinical psychologist in private practice specializing in evidence-based treatments for anxiety and trauma-related disorders. He previously served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences at McMaster University and worked as a psychologist at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton's Anxiety Treatment and Research Clinic and Operational Stress Injury Clinic. Dr. Shnaider is co-author of Treating PTSD with Cognitive-Behavioral Therapies: Interventions That Work and has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. His work focuses on advancing individual, couple, and group cognitive behavioral therapies, and he is committed to training clinicians in effective, evidence-based treatments for PTSD. 

Melanie Wilde

Presenter
Melanie Wilde is the Founder and President of Go to Eleven Consulting, where she helps small business owners and creative entrepreneurs grow through strategic marketing, brand development, and business planning. With more than 30 years of experience, she has worked with leading global brands including Toshiba, Dyson, Herman Miller, and Kärcher. Melanie played a pivotal role in launching the Dyson brand in the Canadian market, developing innovative marketing strategies that drove brand awareness and customer engagement. She is passionate about helping entrepreneurs apply the same proven strategies used by major brands to build successful, sustainable businesses. 

Benjamin Sleight

Presenter
Benjamin Sleight is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based in Kapolei, Hawai'i. He earned his Master of Science in Counseling from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Through his private practice, Safe Trails Counseling, he serves the intersection of Kapolei’s local and military family communities. He earned his Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and is deeply committed to delivering culturally humble, evidence-based treatments for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and borderline personality disorder (BPD).
