For decades, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) has been recognized as one of the most effective, evidence-based treatments for PTSD. But emerging research and clinical practice suggest that CPT may be more versatile than many clinicians realize.  What if the same structured approach you use to treat PTSD could also help clients struggling with depression, anxiety, substance use, chronic pain, moral injury, grief, adjustment disorders, and other complex presentations?

Join Dr. Candice M. Monson for an engaging 30-minute live presentation exploring how CPT targets the underlying cognitive and behavioral mechanisms that drive a wide range of mental health problems.

You will gain a fresh perspective on how CPT can expand your clinical toolkit and enhance your effectiveness with many of the challenges clients bring to therapy every day.

You will learn:

  • Why CPT has been shown to be effective beyond PTSD symptoms and how it targets mechanisms common across many disorders
  • A theoretically-grounded paradigm for applying CPT beyond PTSD
  • How learning CPT can elevate your practice and expand the range of clients you can treat with more confidence

Why this matters

Clinicians are increasingly working with clients who present with overlapping symptoms, complex histories, and multiple diagnoses. Rather than relying on a different protocol for each condition, CPT offers a structured, evidence-based framework that focuses on core mechanisms such as problematic beliefs, emotional avoidance, and meaning-making.

Who should attend:

This session is designed for mental health professionals and trainees with psychotherapy in their scope of practice, including (but not limited to)
  • Psychologists
  • Social Workers
